FAQs

What is the difference between microblading and Powder Ombre Brows:

Microblading uses a hand-held device and allows you to achieve realistic looking hair strokes. Due to this, it's often used to create a soft, fluffy and natural looking brow. On the other hand, powder brows generally have a more defined finish, as if you've got them perfectly filled in with your favorite brow pencil.

How long does it last?

It typically lasts one year, sometimes longer, depending on skin type and skin care routine. LIPS - 1-3 years.

How long does the appointment take?

The entire process takes about 2 to 3 hours. A touch up is required after 40 days to perfect the eyebrows, lips and eyeliner.

Is permanent makeup painful?

Most of my clients report little or no pain. Since the procedure takes a couple hours, some clients have literally slept through it!  I leave a topical anesthetic on the procedure area for 20 minutes before the process begins, so most clients are numb during the procedure. However, if you find that you’re very sensitive, you may report mild discomfort.

AFTER CARE

Following these guidelines are very important for the appearance and longevity of your new eyebrows, lips or eyeliner. Do not let any water, lotion, soap, or makeup touch your eyebrow area during the first 10 days after your procedure.

The following must be avoided during all 10 days post- procedure:

  • Increased sweating

  • Swimming

  • Hot sauna, hot bath, or jacuzzi

  • Sun tanning or salon tanning

  • UV/UVA Rays or chemicals as they have been known to cause a shift in color and premature fading

  • Any laser or chemical treatments or peelings, and/or any creams containing Retin-A or Glycolic acid on the face or neck

  • Picking, peeling, or scratching of the micro pigmented area in order to avoid scarring of the area or removal of the pigment

  • Performing tasks related to heavy household cleaning such as garage or basement cleaning where there is a lot of airborne debris

  • Touching of the eyebrow area

Please wash your face carefully around the eyebrows or lips without getting water on the treated area.  While showering, keep your face away from the shower head or take a bath.

Itching and flaking may appear during the first seven days after the eyebrow procedure.  However, experience has shown that by following these after-care instructions, these symptoms may quickly disappear.

If you have any unexpected problems with the healing of the skin, please contact Courtney immediately to discuss further instructions.

Contact a physician if any signs or symptoms develop such as the following: fever, redness at the site, swelling, tenderness of the procedure site, elevated body temperature, red streaks going from the  procedure site towards the heart, and/or any green/yellow discharge that is foul in odor.
